A resident of Willowbrook, Illinois, Eric Baumbach is currently studying for a dual bachelor’s degree in accountancy and finance at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is a member of the university chapter of the Alpha Phi Omega service fraternity, serving as its director of finance and as a member of several committees. Eric Baumbach also led a number of community and donation projects in Willowbrook and Burr Ridge, Illinois.
In addition to serving as a lifeguard and children’s swim teacher at Burr Ridge’s Five Seasons Family Sports Club for several summers, Mr. Baumbach founded and organized the local Soldiers’ Angels Project in Willowbrook. For months, he raised awareness of the event in the community by posting fliers requesting donations of food and other necessities. He then collected and packaged over 1,000 pounds of donated items, along with handwritten cards from local elementary schools, for shipping overseas to US military personnel. His efforts earned him the Crystal Wings Award for his dedication to supporting active remote medical units.
